Spiced Sloe Gin
2 Lbs of Sloes
1/4 cup of crushed Rock Candy
1 thinly sliced Orange
1 thinly sliced Lemon
1 piece of bruised Ginger Root
1-inch Cinnamon Stick
8 Cloves
1 bottle of Gin (your favorite brand)

Prick each sloe with a darning needle and then layer the sloes in a wide-mouthed bottle or jug. Layer over the sloes with Rock Candy, fruit and spices. Fill up with Gin to cover it all. Then cork tightly and place in a warm, dark place where you will leave it for 6 months. After 6 months, strain and rebottle for keeping.
